I’m never sure what I’m going to get when I order parts from lesser-known companies, but these wheels are the real deal. Very solid, so really great value. What you see is what you get. They’re a little heavier and a lot stronger than the wheels I replaced. These fit my old Specialized Stumpjumper with a 26 inch/571 wheelset perfectly, almost exactly like the OEM wheels. The axles extend just past halfway into each of the dropouts, which is not unusual and fine with me, as the quick releases hold the wheels on just fine. My old front axle was beefier and probably 5 mm longer (went almost all the way to the outside edge of the dropouts). My old rear axle and the quick release spindles that run though the rear axle were the same lengths and diameters as the ones that came with these new wheels, so the rear went in without any difficulty or alignment issues. I reused my old disc brakes, and the brakes aligned almost perfectly, with only some minor adjustments (two clicks) to the brake pad position dials. A couple of other things to think about: If you get these wheels, consider what else you want to do while the wheels are off. While I put these wheels on, I also swapped out my 9-speed cassette and put on a new 9-speed chain, and installation of everything went smoothly. (You need a cartridge removal tool and a chain whip to get the cartridge on or off.) I thought about doing the right thing and getting a new crank/chainset, but I left the front sprocket alone for now. Also, if you ever hang your bike from the ceiling on a hook, be advised you need a large/deep hook that leaves a big gap below the ceiling for these wheels, as the wheel rim is considerably taller than regular spoked wheels. Also, not sure if anyone out there still has caliper brakes, but if you do, you will need to get a standard 6-bolt disc brake kit if you want these wheels to work because the shape/contour of the rim makes caliper brakes absolutely impossible. Finally, you don’t need rim tape to install, as the inside edge of the rim is very smooth. Overall, these wheels are great. They roll true, look great, and perhaps most importantly, completely eliminate any spoke-related maintenance/repair. Depending on what wheels you currently have, these wheels will probably make your bike a pound or two heavier, so if you’re a weight-shaving guy, these probably aren’t your wheels. But if you need some bomb-proof wheels for day-to-day work commutes, light trail rides, and trips to the store, your ship has come in. [...]
